Hollywood star Charlie Sheen is launching his own line of cannabis vapes - after growing sick of bootleggers naming quirky marijuana strains after him.

And the newly-sober actor tells DailyMailTV exclusively that the irony of Hollywood's wild man getting clean, then launching a cannabis line, isn't lost on him.

In January, the 53-year-old star revealed that he has been sober for one year after an infamous drug addiction meltdown, and has ditched booze, drugs and porn stars for exercise, healthy meals and has a 9pm bedtime in a miraculous recovery.

Sheen, who starred in hit movies Wall Street, Platoon and Major League, said he was prompted to start a cannabis line after his business partners told him other growers were cashing in on his famous name.

'They said, you know, we see your name so ingrained in the marijuana industry. And it's all bootlegged essentially, I've never made a nickel off of it. That didn't seem fair,' he told DailyMailTV exclusively.

Sheenius, the actor's vape line, has a variety of quirkily-named flavors including 'MaliBlu Dream', 'Milli's Vanilla', 'Grandma's Perfume' and 'Clown Mace', some inspired by his TV and movie catchphrases.

'Clown Mace is pretty good, because what clown shouldn't be maced?' he said. 'One of our favorites is Grandma's Perfume.'

'Sometimes it's more about how words sound together, and then you start creating images, visuals behind the feelings those words create. We just wanted it to feel inviting and to generate curiosity – like what is a vape strain called 'Mama Said No?'

The star bashfully told DailyMailTV that one flavor, 'The Legend', was conceived after he was told he was a 'legend' by young people several times on the street.

'It's kinda cool, but it's a little much, you know? Legends aren't usually still alive. But I started hearing it in enough situations and from a variety of people. And so I said, you know what, let's give the people what they want.'

A quote by the actor on the Sheenius website's front page is less bashful, however. 'I'm tired of pretending like I'm not special. I'm tired of pretending like I'm not b****in', a total fricking rock star from Mars,' the site proclaims.

DailyMailTV was invited along to a product photo shoot in Hollywood during which Sheen larked around with models on set, including a male model dressed as a clown to promote the Clown Mase vape flavor in his line.

We also accompanied the star when he visited a cannabis testing lab to see how his Sheenius brand faired under testing.

Sheen donned a white lab coat and protective glasses at pH Solutions in Monrovia, California as Raquel Keledjian, Laboratory Director, showed him the ropes. The lab tests strains of cannabis, checking the potency profile and for any impurities and Sheenius passed with flying colors.

Sheen has two businesss partners in the venture, Oz and Tom.

Oz said he reached out to the actor to start a cannabis business after seeing his name on several marijuana products.

'I've been in the industry for a while, started with growing and, ended up meeting Charlie very randomly through a mutual friend,' he said.

'The topic came up because his name has been mentioned so much in the industry. There's been strains named after him that he had no idea about.

'His name became popular in the industry. And you kept hearing it and seeing it on the shelf. Let's say you had 10 strains, and you had Skywalker there, and the next day you had Charlie Sheen,' he said.

The cannabis entrepreneur said Sheen is now 'like family' to him after working with the star since 2017.

'I can relate to him like i can relate to members of my own family because he's solid and no bullsh**t,' he said.

Oz, who has his own cannabis business working on the cultivation and retail side, said he believes the quality of Sheenius strains, as well as its celebrity CEO, will help it sell.

'There's a lot of vape companies out there. It has to be a good product at the end of the day,' he said.

'Each flavor that we have, there's an actual stream behind it. Like MaliBlu Dream, it's got Charlie in it because he's from Malibu. But the strain is Blue Dream crossed with Super Silver.

'Charlie did a lot of work on this, from the logo to the name.'

Oz said Sheenius will launch with six flavors on April 2 in around 20 dispensaries, priced between $60 and $70.

The former Two and a Half Men star said as well as being a moneymaker, he believes Sheenius can help people with medical problems.

'I feel like I'm sort of a medicinal ambassador for Sheenius,' he said. 'A lot of people battling different forms of cancer and certain types of epilepsy are really relying on vaping for their medicinal needs – to have an appetite, to sleep, to cope. I do feel good about about delivering this to that part of the population.'

The star marked one year of sobriety in January after a public booze-fueled meltdown led him to change his life, giving up booze, drugs and porn stars and focusing on exercise, healthy meals and a 9pm bedtime.

'I got so tired of letting everyone down, and ultimately myself down, that I made the decision the very morning of December 10, 2017, to embrace a newly unearthed direction and path,' he told DailyMailTV.

'I feel good, I've made some significant changes and I'm on the right track.'

Sheen described how he relapsed after 11 years of sobriety when he found out he had HIV in 2012.

'Every night would start out with the best intentions, (it would) always wind up with good and decent people having to clean up my mess,' he said.

'And the other side of that is I got tired of apologizing for things I couldn't remember doing.

'To be engaged in a fantasy that it's gonna be different or it's gonna be more fun...it's all fiction.'

Sheen said he is now downsizing from his $10million mansion and revamping his life.

'I work out every day, I hit the treadmill, eat well, read scripts, watch the news and I'm in bed most nights by 9. I'm feeling better than ever.'

Sheen said embraces the irony in launching a marijuana vape line while celebrating his newfound sobriety.

'I'm very excited about being sober these days. And going public with that too. But then, oh, by the way, here's a weed company,' he laughed.

'I haven't smoked pot in like 10 years. It's just not my thing,' he added.

'A lot of people claim to be sober and still smoke pot and I'm not one of them. We hatched this [business plan] out a couple of years ago when I was still getting pretty lit. And then when I stopped getting lit, the idea was still good enough to keep pursuing.'

Sheen said his new business has also helped with his recovery.

'I spend a lot of time with my kids, you know, all day, every day, which is amazing. But it's terrific to have a project like this that requires a lot of energy, that requires a lot of creative, hands-on focus,' he said.

'There's a certain adrenal excitement about putting it out. We know how good this is, It's just a question of getting it to the people and them agreeing and wanting more. I think we've got a real shot, and it's really exciting.'

The actor once referred to Alcoholics Anonymous as a 'cult', but now attends a 'very private' group to discuss his addiction problems, and said he has had 'little bit' of therapy to aid his recovery.

'I only yelled at two people all of last year, both of them were my children,' Sheen joked.

'I don't break s**t anymore. I don't lose stuff. I'm extremely punctual… My kids are really seeing this guy, this like super reliable guy and that's such a gift that they can just depend on me, even if I become their Uber driver for the day, you know, they've got the best version of me possible,' the star told DailyMailTV.

Sheen has a daughter Cassandra, 34, with high school sweetheart Paula Profit, daughters Sam, 14, and Lola, 13, with ex-wife Denise Richards and twin sons Bob and Max, nine, with ex-wife Brooke Mueller.

The star says he is currently working on a TV series written by a close friend.

'It's terrific. It's about redemption and it's pretty special,' he said.

He added that although he's getting plenty of acting job offers, he's being discerning with his roles.

'I would rather not work than do stuff that people don't really care about,' he said.

Sheen appeared in a slew of hit movies in the late 80s and early 90s including Platoon, Wall Street, Young Guns, Eight Men Out, Major League and Hot Shots!

He later earned multiple Golden Globe and Emmy nominations on the popular sitcom Two And A Half Men from 2003 to 2011 and most recently starred in the drama film 9/11 in 2017, alongside co-stars Whoopi Goldberg, Gina Gershon and Luis Guzman.
