Elisabeth Moss may be as ambitious as her character Peggy Olson on AMC’s Mad Men, already starring in television, movies and on the Broadway stage.
A California girl, Moss was born and raised in Los Angeles on July 24, 1982. At the age of five, she began studying ballet, which led her to the School of American Ballet in New York. She also studied with legendary ballerina Suzanne Farrell at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
Perhaps known best for playing Zoey Bartlet, the president’s daughter, in The West Wing, Moss has had numerous roles on the small screen including guest-stints in Grey’s Anatomy, Medium, and The Practice. Her recent film credits include Get Him to the Greek, and Did You Hear About the Morgans? In 2004, she garnered an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actress for her role in Virgin.
Moss made her Broadway debut in 2008 starring opposite Jeremy Piven and William H. Macy in Speed-The-Plow.
In Oct. 2009, she entered into a brief marriage with SNL cast member Fred Armisen. The couple divorced in Sept. 2010.
